Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger points are tension knots found in muscle tissue. The pain they cause does not occur at the trigger point itself, but appears as radiating pain in another part of the body.

It is very common, for example, that a stabbing pain felt in the front of the shoulder is caused by a trigger point in a muscle in the rotator cuff, on the surface of the shoulder blade.

Often the pain in the forearm-pinky area is also to be found around the shoulder blades. In the case of various neck complaints, the root of the problem is often further away, in the thoracic section, and in the case of headaches, it is worth thoroughly examining the neck muscles.

These tight muscle knots inhibit blood flow, thereby deteriorating the area's metabolism, and the muscle becomes increasingly tense. Trigger points are found in a specific place in a given muscle.

Knowing these, based on the pain zone indicated by the patient, I have a good chance of eliminating the real cause of the pain.
